A naked teenage girl is found dead near the beautiful Byzantine Yoros Castle in Turkey. She has stabbed herself through the heart but there is evidence of bizarre sexual practice. In another part of Istanbul, a young boy seems to have committed suicide in similar circumstances. What dark rituals could have compelled them to fatal self abuse? The special squads of armed officers, the torture chambers in the Stasi jail, the hundreds of thousands of informers could do nothing to prevent the rebellion that saw the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is in the context of these last few paranoid weeks of the Communist world, when a population that had been oppressed for nearly sixty years found the will to rise up, that „Brandenburg“ is set. Its hero is Dr. Rudolf Rosenharte, an academic from Dresden and agent for MI6, who must face a stark choice when his security is compromised: to jump ship and defect to the West, leaving his beloved family to the mercies of the Stasi, or return to East Germany to carry out a dangerous assignment under the Stasi’s suspicious eye. Now his children, Gregg and Gina, tell it for him.

„On the Run“ is the extraordinary true account of what it’s like to grow up in the federal witness protection program. Just as Gregg was celebrating his bar mitzvah and his sister, Gina, was buying her first bra, Henry Hill was informing on his former cronies. Henry, his wife, and children were swept into protective custody. And Gregg and Gina, who’d already been exposed to their father’s wild side, were about to be ripped from their home and lose the only normalcy they’d ever known.

Weitere Informationen zum Buch finden Sie → hier.

Short Story Dagger
Danuta Reah: No Flies on Frank
Erschienen im Sherlock Holmes Magazin, Ausgabe 64

Informationen zur Autorin finden Sie auf der → Homepage der Autorin.
Informationen zum Sherlock Holmes Magzin finden Sie → hier.

Dagger in the Library
Jake Arnott

Mit dem „Dagger in the Libary“ wird das Werk eines Autors ausgezeichnet, nicht ein einzelnes Buch.
